Port Douglas is home to Four Mile Beach, a long, flat picturesque stretch of sand that seems to go forever. Perfect for bike riding and sand castle making, you’ll find plenty to do here to keep the little ones occupied. Four Mile is lifeguard patrolled and has a seasonal stinger net, so can be swum in year-round.
One thing’s for sure, there’s no shortage of places to stay in Port. Almost all have pools, so if you don’t fancy a dip in the ocean you can still cool off. Dozens of stalls set up every week catering to locals and visitors, selling fresh produce, wooden toys, handmade clothing and crafts, and everything in between.
