Where To Eat In Port Douglas

News

Port Douglas is a foodie's dream. Fresh seafood, great coffee, delicious cocktails... It doesn't get much better. Here are our top picks for where to eat while you Unwind in Port Douglas.

Best of Port Douglas

Origin Espresso

Being on holidays doesn’t negate your need for a caffeine fix! Luckily, Origin Espresso has you covered. Their beans are roasted locally, making their brews extra tasty. Added bonus: they sell freshly baked doughnuts from local guys Duke’s Doughnuts – it’s a perfect pairing.

Hi-Tide Café

For a heartier breakfast, our top pick is Hi-Tide Cafe. Attached to Peninsula Boutique Hotel, it’s one of the only restaurants in town that enjoys ocean views. Freshly squeezed juices and crowd favourites such as shakshuka and smashed avo with Mexican salsa feature on their breakfast menu. They are also open for lunch and dinner and are fully licensed.

The Surfy

For a casual but delicious meal, you can’t go past The Surfy. Serving up pub favourites with a twist, it’s a great place to take the family. Ideally located next to Four Mile Beach, lunch at The Surfy won’t even interrupt your beach day.

Salsa Bar & Grill

We have two words for you: linguini pepperincino… Try this culinary delight at Salsa, arguably Port Douglas’ best restaurant. If their famous crayfish linguini or signature cocktails don’t make your mouth water, you’re sure to find something else that will. Warning, you’ll need to book in advance for this one.

Nautilus Restaurant

Offering fine food in a hidden tropical setting, Nautilus is the ultimate restaurant for date night (time to call that babysitter the hotel told you about!). A candlelit path leads the way to this romantic outdoor restaurant that has attracted some big name celebrities over the past 60 years.

Sunday Markets

No weekend in Port Douglas is complete without a visit to the Sunday Markets. Fresh local produce, coffee carts and Port Douglas’ best food trucks await hungry market dwellers every Sunday morning in Rex Smeals Park. Our favourite: freshly shredded coconut bowls with your choice of sweet or savoury filling.

Capannina

You thought we forgot dessert, didn’t you? Not a chance. Capannina serves up the best gelato this side of Italy. We’d tell you our favourite flavour but we just can’t choose. Ideally located in the middle of Macrossan St, it’s the perfect detour on the walk home from dinner.
